Claims by Devon County Conservatives that “In the last three years the Conservatives have reduced Devon County Council’s debt by nearly £90m,” have been exposed as pure spinning!

Thanks to public cross examination by Lib Dem Councillors it has been revealed that only £28.4 million of Devon County Council debt has been repaid.   Who says so?   Why Cllr John Clatworthy Conservative Finance Chief in a written answer given at the DCC Cabinet meeting on 13^th March.   Additionally most of the debt repaid was approved by the Lib Dem Administration in May 2009 before the last election.

Conservative spinning knows no bounds; they also claim to have frozen Councillors allowances.   Wrong again – this decision was taken by the Lib Dems before the 2009 county election.

What other claims are the Conservatives making which are simply not true?
